Í tilefni alþjóðlega Huntington dagsins, þann 15. maí, munu HD-samtökin efna til ráðstefnu um Huntington sjúkdóminn.
Huntington’s sjúkdómurinn: frá erfðum til meðferðar

Ráðstefnan mun kanna nýjustu rannsóknir og þróun á sviði Huntington-sjúkdómsins. Þátttakendur munu fræðast um þróun sjúkdómsins á Íslandi og möguleika á meðferðarúrræðum. Þeir munu öðlast skilning á Huntingtonssjúkdómnum og einkennum hans. Erindin munu kynna framvindu klínískra rannsókna, erfðafaraldsfræði á Íslandi, og aðskilnað HTT CAG endurtekninga í ættartrjám. Einnig verður rætt um nýjar aðferðir við umönnun sjúklinga og mikilvægar rannsóknir fyrir þá sem verða fyrir áhrifum af sjúkdómnum. Allir þátttakendur munu fara frá borði með betri skilning á margbreytileika Huntingtonssjúkdómsins og meðferð hans.

Developments in Huntington’s Disease: From Genetics to Therapy

On May 15th, the International Huntington’s Disease Awareness Day, the HD Association will hold a conference on Huntington’s disease.
This conference will explore the latest research and developments in the field of Huntington’s disease. Attendees will learn about the genetic development of the disease in Iceland and the potential for therapeutic interventions. They will gain an understanding of the current state of knowledge regarding Huntington’s disease and its associated symptoms. Presentations will include updates on the progress of clinical trials, genetic epidemiology in Iceland, segregation of HTT CAG repeats in extended pedigrees, and the latest developments in medicines and therapy. Discussions will also focus on new approaches to patient care and the implications of new research for those affected by the disease. All attendees will leave with a better understanding of the complexities of Huntington’s disease and its treatment.
